No clue if they fit the stock rim. But that is the size I'm buying next. I've seen 285/75/18's and mine has 325/60/18's and are too fat and stubby. The 285's were to tall and the tread was too skinny. I'm betting you will love those.
I think 305's are too wide for the OEM rim.
you can go with Nitto 295's safely but the 305's should be on 9" rims
They will fit but will be on the inner limit of rim width.
I like to be in the middle of the recommended rim size but to each his own.
I think the oem are 8 inch. Someone says the 305 will wear in the middle with «OME. I wounder how much of a difference? Would it make that much a difference, I am pretty sure they will look much better, do not really want to spend money on new rims.
Will they fit on the OEM 18 inch wheel on F350? I have a 2'' leveling in front. How do they look on the truck?
I would like a wider tire than my original Contitrac 275 75 18 any suggestion?
Thanks
Stock Conti's are 275/70-18 I believe...at about 33 inches tall. If you get much wider than 285 or 295 you will have a wear problem on the stock rim width. I went with 285/75-18 Toyo's and have been very happy with them They are just under 35 inches tall and will fit with your 2 inch lift. If you go too wide in the snow you may not be happy with the performance of your tire...but they should look nice.
Yes, that is what I worry a bit for wear but I do not intend to go in snow with it. I just wonder how much wear, I carry a truck camper weight about 3500 lbs.
For snow I have some 27 70 18 BF Goodrich AT with about 3000 miles on it
Did you find a difference in MPG with the 305? Wear in the middle?
MPG's??? Whats that...?lol I really don't pay close attention to it. Technically speaking, yeah mpg's should be worse with a wider heavier tire in general. Not sure if I remember a difference after goin to the 305's. I have good normal wear on my tires. I rotate them evry 10k or so and keep an eye on psi.
I have the 305's Nitto Terra Grapplers on my stock rims with a 2.5" leveling kit. They fit and work fine. No rubbing or scraping on tough terrain. Overall, one of the best tire treads I have had on a truck. Run great in the rain, awesome in the sand, ect... Overall, I am very satisfied, and will buy them again when these wear out, providing I still own this POS 6.0! Oh, and by the way, the truck looks really good, stout, stocky.
Not sure if this will help you any, but I run 325/65/18 on stock rims, and I love them. They wear great, no uneven wear at all. But I do have a 4 inch lift though before I put them on.
