brake light switch test
My 98 B2500 blew the brake light fuse . I replaced the fuse and as soon as I hit the pedal the fuse blows. Is there a way of testing the brake switch and are they known to go bad? I'm puzzled by the green wire going directly to ground. I have it unhooked from the switch and unhooked from the connector underneath between the cab and the box. If the green wire is grounded in the harness, I might be better off splicing a single wire in , Any help appreciated.

OK, check both rear brake lamps, if a filiment blows, it can cause a fuse to blow.
Does the fuse blow if you remove both rear brake lamps & step on the brake pedal????, If so, it would indicate a wiring problem between the rear brake lamp sockets & the fuse panel.
Did this problem happen suddenly after some event????
