The clips retaining fuel lines to pump should release by pushing connector inward toward pump and using small screwdriver to push in on top wide part of plastic clip and then pulling line off. Many say you need to buy a special tool but never found it necessary. Be carefull not to break clip by using pliers etc as they are hard to find .

The fuel lines are likely VERY brittle by this time. Mine were. They will shatter if you were to say, drop the connector onto the top of the tank. I think I used a piece of plastic milk carton, cut to fit around the diameter of the fuel line, and wrapped it around the line and pushed it into the fitting, which released the retainer clip.

Final thoughts
Turns out it was the fuel pump. I replace it and now it runs fine. Just for the DIYers out there, I dropped the tank and disconnected everything in this order (filler tubes, hose at the very end of tank, then you should be able to lower the tank enough to get to the two hoses on the fuel pump). Another thing to save yourself a lot of time and trouble in solving fuel pump issues, you have to buy the right tools for the job. Get a fuel pump gauge and buy the right fuel line disconnect tool. Those thing are a bitch to get off. I bought three different kinds trying to save money. Autozone sold three different types; plastic round fitting, the two size scissor like tool, and the color coded tools. I finally had to get a set of the more expensive color coded tools because the other ones didn't work. I spent all day trying to remove the lines with the other tools. The color coded tool were about $20 and these popped the fuel lines out after a few minutes of trying. OEM/4 pcs. 1/8, 1/4, 5/16 and 1/2 in. aluminum disconnect set (25150) | Line Disconnect Tool | AutoZone.com
They absolutely work the best.
