Crank no start F-350

Crank no start F-350

Truck: 1996 Ford F-350 7.3 Diesel 190K on the clock, new Glow Plugs 4 weeks ago.

I have read many post from this board while troubleshooting my truck. Thanks for the help so far. However, I was driving home with a load of mulch and out of no where the truck started loosing power at a hill, by the top of the hill I had it to the floor and was only running about 15 mph. I shifted into neutral and tried revving it up, but it just stopped running. I coasted into a parking lot and called a buddy he brought a truck & trailer and new CPS Sensor (Ford Dealer Part). I changed the CPS in the parking lot, but still no start. We towed it home and now it sits in the garage.

Day 2:
Had batteries on charge several hours. First battery brand new, second couple years old but tested fine. Truck spins over strong and tach gauge bounces around 200-400 rpm.
Hook fuel pressure gauge to schreder valve below FPR got zero while turning over.
Changed fuel filter
Cleaned gunk from screen in FPR.
Still no fuel pressure while spinning over.

Ordered fuel pump.

Day 3:
Fuel pump arrived. Installed by the Sam Miller directions, went pretty smooth.
Put it all back together, still cranks but no start.
Checked Fuel pressure while cranking still got 0.

While spinning over I got plenty of white smoke.
There is plenty of fuel in the in the tanks, and the filter housing is full of fuel.

Now I need some help from the experts. Where do I turn next?
Thanks
David

Check to see if the harness / connection to the IPR is tight. Also the FPR / fuel bowl could be so gunked up its not allowing good fuel flow.

Any blown fuses? Had that happen when my fuel bowl heat broke going down a back road and lost power. Didn't know what was going on. I look at the fuses and it was a 30 amp that controls the glow plugs and alot of other things.

The FPR is designed to remove air from the fuel ....That is why the screen being clean is important ....It controls the return to the tank ....Fuel pressure is what it is coming from the pump , the excess has to go back to the tank , along with what ever air is in the system . It has no other function ....

clogged up it can cause an uneven idle . Nothing more

But if the spring is broke and not holding the psi then want it allow to much fuel to pass through and drop the fuel pressure. Please correct if i'm wrong
