Temperature Sensor

Hey everyone, just joined the site. Have a 2000 F350SRW, love the truck, its has the 5.4 V8. Was wondering where the temp. sensor is located. My temp gauge suddenly dopped to the bottom & doesn't work anymore. I don't know if its the gauge or sensor. Any help work be appreciated.

if your talkng about the sensor that gives you the outside temp on your overhead console...its behind the grill on the drivers side. i'll see if i can find a picture of it.

The transmission temp sensor is on the solenoid body, inside the transmission pan.

I think that you are asking about the engine temp sensor.
It is located at the upper right rear of the 5.4L engine.
If the sensor itself failed there should be a check engine light and a code set.

Sorry if I didn't clearify, but I meant my engine temperature sensor. My gauge in the dash cluster suddenly dropped to the bottom(blue cold area) & doesn't work anymore. Still have lots of heat. I was trying to figure if its the gauge of possible the sensor that runs the gauge but I can't seem to find the sensor on the engine. Or if anyone has a better way to determine I would certainly appreciate it.
