I'm guessing it would be Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5w20. That's what I used for my first oil change and will be using again. I'm also using Motorcraft oil filters.
You can use most any oil you want, just make sure it's 5w20 and at least semi-synthetic. Full synthetic is fine too. Filter quality seems to vary widely which is why I recommend sticking with Motorcraft.

At the dealership, Steve, the Service Manager told
me that my truck(2011 F-350 6.2L) came with the Motorcraft
5W20 synthetic blend and he was hoping
that I would stick with that same oil. I get
filters there at the dealership, $5-6 I believe, and
will be staying with the 5W20 blend.
Good luck with your new truck...
So I guess it is the Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5w20 what I will use.
I know that Walmart has the Ford Motorcraft filter but next time I visit I will check on the Motorcraft oil.
Stopped by my local Walmart and found the Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5w20 in 1.25 gal container for $13 and the qt for $3.66 each. They also had the Ford oil filters. So I guess I will probably do my own oil changes.
Book say 7,500 miles but I plan on doing it every 5,000 miles.
FYI the 6.2L engine takes 7 quarts of oil.

Does anyone know which oil change interval applies? The manual says 7500, but my computer is telling me I still have 25% oil life left at 7600 miles. Which should I go by?
I use 5W20 Mobil 1 full synthetic with a Mobil 1 oil filter. After 5000 miles, my truck still registered 50% oil life left, but I changed it anyways. I also installed a magnetic oil sump plug and a FilterMag filter magnet...I'm looking to keep my engine as contaminant free and long lasting as possible.

'Capital Campers', give your go some show
Thanks for your replies on my changing oil question. I was told by a service tech to go by the computer.
No disrespect meant, but Ford salesmen didn't even know the difference between cargo capacity and towing capacity when I bought my truck to carry a truck camper. Even the truck I finally bought says 3340 lbs. on the door sticker, but the camper slip in the glove box says 2400 lbs. I'm not towing anything, just carrying a camper on the bed.
So far the 6.2 L gas engine is a trooper at 7600 miles.
Oil Change today at 7950 miles, first one. This time tech recommended changing at 5000 miles with my camper load. HE says the computer does not account for load, speed, etc., just time, when keeping oil life percentage. Seems like there are many opinions on this. Its just another truck so I guess the conventional wisdom applies. The more frequent the oil changes, the safer you are. (Just costs a little more.)

I agree to a certain degree about some FORD sales folk. I was out test driving 2012 SD's over the weekend. A sales person told me straight up...that it was not possible to get a 6.2L with the 2-tone paint in Lariat trim. I did NOT challenge him on it...but knew he was completely wrong! eeek!

never listen to them... Back in '90 I went to order a Reg cab/4x4/4speed/460 F-250 - I had the money - knew the dealership, was gonna only negotiate $$ & purchase... Salesman said - you cannot get a 460 with 4x4! - I knew that was false. -- I walked -- Went to another dealer & gave them my money..

Very true! At a different dealership...the sales guy told me the 6.2L in the F250 was the most powerful gas engine put in a F250. WTF??? Did this guy ever hear of the V10 3v gas engine???
IMHO...they need to study and learn the product.

That is somewhat true since you can't get a V10 in a F250 anymore.
