95 f150 4x4 transmission question

Just acquired a 95 f150 4x4 with a bad tranny. The transmission is a 4R70W and I have found a used one out of a 98 F150 4x4. Will the 98 interchange with the 95? Any problems that I might run into with the electronics? Also I should ask what years can interchange with the 95?

Thanks

I don't think the 98 trans will bolt to the back of your engine. Most any transmission 96 and older should work.

I will agree the 4R70W from the 1998 will not work assuming the '98 is a modular motor. You will need a 4R70W from the same vintage truck as yours, roughly 1993 to 1996.

Thanks for the info. Thats what I figured but wanted to make sure before I passed on the 98 tranny.
