I have a Airaid intake coming today. Should be at my door when I get home from work today. I am hoping to get a little better but not expecting more then 1 mpg, but .75 would be nice.

made an 800 or so KM round trip today, from Winnipeg (my city) to Grand Forks ND. Truck did well.
speeds were between 100 and 120 km/Hr (60-75MPH),
on the way down the mileage seemed to be better.. Dancing around the 15.6-16 L/100km...
on the way back between 16-16.5L/100km. I was quite surprised. this is the best ive seen yet in the truck.

i think those numbers are around 15-17MPG..

tomorrow is the same trip. Hopefully pick up a bed rug while im down there as well. See what time permits.

I drove up to Saginaw MI with mine and got about 16.5 there, but only 14.8 on the way home. Must have had a tail wind going. The whole trip was about 175 miles round trip, I did 2 days back-to-back and got the same both days. Not bad though with a 8000 lbs truck that has a brick wall in the front 5 feet high.

Here is a picture with it installed. I posted it in a different thread too. After I installed it I went and filled up to see if it makes any different. This tank will be no or very little highway miles, just city to and from work.

And I'll bet you didn't even wave when you got here in Saginaw!

As for the tailwind... WOW, it's amazing how a little bit of wind effects this truck!

16litres/100km is 14.79 US mpg...much better than my old V10 got. I take it you have the 3.73 rear end. The best I ever did with the V10 was 14.7 and that was only once and driving at 55 to 60 mph. Ihad 4.10's. I am curious to see how I do with the 6.2 and 4.30's.

Your V10 will do better than the 6.2. I'm avg'ing about 10.5 or so with 50/50 city-hwy driving in my 6.2 w/ 4.30's (truck is stock). My 2000 V10 got 13-14 cty with 3.73's when it was brand new.

Just an observation, SWAG, or whatever on my part. It appears those that get below average mileage appear to have some transmission blips. The folks getting above average mileage seem to have no transmission issues. If this is consistent average mileage (MPG) could be an early indicator of the transmission slips/problems.
Best Regards,
Russ

That could be a issue, I have stated to notice the misses from 1st to 2nd gear a little more often now. I have 2300 miles on mine, didn't seem to have any problems at first but more often now.
My MPG's have gone up as the truck gets more miles on it and have seen better since I changed the oil too.
Has Ford done anything with the transmission issue yet?

We were supposed to get a trans update for the 6.2 the latter part of this week but I'm not sure if it was released.

I do have the trans issue. It's not terrible as it normally operates without issue but once in a while it'll hit the 2-3rd issue and p me off.

I need to call my dealer again and get my moonroof glass ordered (came scratched from the factory) and see if they can get this flash installed. I was going to call on Monday and see if they got the TSB update. I'll post back if I hear anything from them.

Did mine out twice.

Before exhaust/intake/PCM rescan for tranny = 13.5 MPG, 75% highway
After= 14.9, about 70% highway

When did you get your truck? I got mine 2-18-11, so I might have the latest.
I saw on another thread the dealers don't have the new one yet. But that just might be where they are.

Just talked to my dealer. They have the new flash and takes about 1.5 hours to put on.
