Vehicular Preparations for Alaskan Territory

Vehicular Preparations for Alaskan Territory
Hey guys!
Well, pretty soon (within the next year or so) I will be moving to Alaska!
Of course, the weather in Alaska is a lot different than in North Carolina. My truck was built at a Virginia plant, sold new in Charlotte, North Carolina, and now it's sitting in my driveway... which is about 5 hours from Charlotte.
What that says is that my truck has never been out of North Carolina.
So! The question is... What do I need to do, what to I need to buy, what do I need to change to
A) Make it to Alaska in my truck
B) Prepare my truck for Alaskan weather and the terrain
I need ideas! You guys know a lot more about vehicles than I do (however, I am learning)
So, yeah... What can I install, switch out, change, etc. etc. on my vehicle to make it better for Alaskan weather and terrain?
Thanks!

I would post in the Alaska Chapter asking for hints. Would be a good idea to change all fluids and make sure the w/washer has cold weather fluid in it. Good tires and maybe 2 spares. Extra oil, ATF, coolant etc. AAA? Alaska isn't the end of the world and parts of it are even modernized. Good luck, and have a safe trip.
