That was probably the safer decision to make. Damaged frames are never the same without a bunch o cash put into them.

Travel safe and enjoy the journey. Take some pics along the way and keep a journal you can share.
Best,
Jason

Buzz- Yes I am looking for those wheels. May have found a set with tires but what did you have in mind friend?

Sorry guys, I was on the road and couldn't post. I got her home and have named my new baby Sarah. She ran and rode flawlessly up to the last hour and a half. I think I toasted the alternator. My gauges stopped working along with the radio and the lights went dim. got to my girlfriends house just in time (I live an hour further south). went out to start it this morning and she had a hard time turning over. Had to go buy cables to jump her, of coarse I have 3 new sets at home. Seems to crank good now and the gauges are working again. Gotta be something intermittent. The guy I bought it from said the radio would go out periodically but I don't think he noticed the gauges. Had the same issue with my 96 F350 recently so I new what to watch for. For now, just glad to be home and for the record I HATE SNOW! The roads were so treacherous (for a native Californian) That I just wanted to get out, not to mention I was exhausted so only one pic along the road. wish I had taken more.

Thanks guys. It is good to be home. I figured out the charging issue is in the steering column. I know that sounds strange but the guy I bought it from said he rebuilt the column. I was driving home from my girlfriend's house tonight and the radio kept flickering on and off. If you read my earlier post, when the radio went out, the alternator stopped charging the battery. Well, tonight when I went to signal left, the radio went out again. From there it flickered for 45 minutes till I got to my street. Then I went to signal right and everything came back on. So I must conclude there is an issue in the column itself. Any thoughts?
