Belt Noise!!

Hey guys,
There is a squeaking noise coming from my fan belt/pulls and i can not locate the where abouts of it!! Its very loud and is driving me nutsss! Dose anyone have any ideas on how to locate which pully it is or something i can spray on it that will lub the pullys but not slicken up the belt!!! Thanks

The bearings are sealed, so nothing you spray on them will work unless the bearing case is so far gone there is wear for fluid to get in. If you think it is a belt, put a little bar soap on the belts, this will stop belt nosie for a little while, not permanently. A little info about your rig would help with ideas.

look at the tensioner that was my problem it said it was still in range but when i put a new one on no more squeaking

how old is the belt ? is it a V belt or a Serpentine ? take the belt off and spin all off the pulleys by hand to see if there is any noise or wobble !

deodorant on the belt will stop noise too

Im willin to bet its the tensioner, just a wild guess

The truck is a 1993 F-150 With a 302 5.0l!! I took belt of and spun it and never heard anything!! Its coming from the pulls on the passenger side!! Any more ideas?

id also say tensinoner pully or does your truck have ac you might have an idler pully as well. how old is the alternator the bearings might be done. good luck

I have a 95 F150 with the 5.0 and just replaced the idler pulley on top. Mine was making a high pitched chirping sound. Half hour job.
