Thanks Dave- the what oil to run regularly is an endless circle with as many opinions as there is oil, but the breakin period is all I'm looking for at this point.

 

I did a filter change at 150 miles, first oil change at 500 miles with again a new filter, then regular 3000 mile oil change intervals.
That got rid of anything like excess RTV and the initial odd metal that may have been dislodged or missed with cleaning parts.
