Opinion on injectors please

I'm looking at an 03 ccsb 4x4 with 130000 miles. It has a salvage title due to vandalism-they stole the injectors and some other non essential stuff. The guys asking 8500 but I got him down to 7500( includes cost of delivering truck to me 400 miles or so) I'm trying to decide if it's a good deal or not. I know the cost of injectors and prob will do the work myself. He bought it that way but does say everything is there except the actual injectors trucks in excellent shape and has carpet delete. Thanks for the advice/help!

Without the injectors, there is no way to know what is really wrong with it.

I have never heard of a "salvage" title because of vandalism of injectors alone, are you sure about this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvage_title

"salvage" usually involves something like a wreck... it is normally defined as above.

I have heard of cats stolen... but 8 injectors that is real work to get out????

$3,000 to $4,000 to replace... and that exceed 75% of its value?

2 and 2 is not adding up to 4 here.

To me, this is a $1,000 buy if you can get a transmission (and not even the engine) core out of it.

There is no way I would buy a 2003 truck that did not run for that amount of money. If you shop around you can find them running for that or close to that.

Without the truck running you will have no idea what all is wrong with the engine. Plus with the injectors out and valve covers off you don't know what contaminates have dropped down into the cylinders.

Just too many what ifs on this one to spend your hard earned money on.
