dont know which one I got but I had a new CAC installed last January and it hasnt solved the problem. I think its a little better, but then again I havent put many miles on it since then. Definitely not gone though.

I had the CAC changed out in Jan this year - it has helped considerably with reducing the white smoke - Has anyone installed a Banks or other aftermarket CAC ? Waiting till 09/12 when warranty expires

I don't have personal knowledge but I ask that question a lot on this site and some other diesel sites. a number of folks have the Banks, not so much the Spearco. I had no reports of the problem being solved and only one report of it doing it even with the banks. If you do a search here you may find it. FTE is where I hang mostly so that's probably where the post is.

Yup, I only know of one Banks CAC that did not totally solve the problem for them.

I did the TSB about 2 yrs ago. It helped a lot, but not completely. Banks CAC was the fix for me last year. I also installed the 3" cold side CAC pipe at the same time, so maybe that helps too.

Would you share "rough costs" for the banks CAC?
Was there any discussion about warranty impact with the banks CAC?

I had no impact on my warranty. I bought mine on sale for approx $1035.00. I forget the web site name. Something like Performance Truck parts (or Products). I believe they run about $1150.00-$1200.00 these days.

I'd get it from banks themselves...cut out the middle man. If I ever have to replace mine that is what I will do. So far so good though.

I agree. However money is money. Who ever gets you the best price (shipping included in that) with the least amount of haggling wins.
