Djousma,

Darn - never had to reset the coolant test... I was just out there again and couldn't find it.. nothing in the manual either...

Have you had to reset the fuel filter in your truck?

Thanks,

Bill

Found it!

Djousma,

Your tip for the coolant reset helped me find it...

Settings > Vehicle > Maintenance > Fuel Filter Reset

Thanks to all for the pointers...

Bill

Hum...coolant test should occur every 15,000 so I've surprised your truck hasn't thrown this alert.

It is under settings...

I've been through the menus. There is an "oil life reset" - but no "fuel filter reset"

Have you reset the fuel filter through the menus yourself?

Thanks,

Bill
Yes, I have reset the filter life on my 11 & 12.

Go to settings;
Vehicle:
Maintenance:
Fuel Filter:

press and hold...

Light never came on for me; got to 22,800 miles and truck throttle response was sporadic one morning on way to work. Called the dealer right then and scheduled the changes. Pretty simple. I'll do it myself when 15k goes by. Wonder if Baldwin makes a filter to fit this app. Been running Baldwins for years in my other diesels.
Thanks OP for the write-up.

I just received my first "change fuel filter" message in the cluster at 32,300 miles. I've been changing them every 10k. Last time I changed them was right around 30,000. I'm going to just reset the message and continue with my normal maintenance schedule.

Do you think you just forgot to reset the reminder last filter change, or could there be a plugging issue with the filters?

I don't understand what is up with the minders - the minder on my truck has only went off once and I have almost 60k on my clock - Talked directly to service department, and the service manager told me "If you don't change your filters every 20k it will void your warranty"

The "minder" is actually a warning indicating that your filters are clogged. The Diesel Supplement says to change both filters "Every 22500 miles (36000 kilometers) or as indicated by the information display" (p. 77) as part of your regularly scheduled maintenance. So your dealer's pretty close with his comment.

The or as indicated part is what I have been paying attention to

Yeah, the manual should probably add "whichever comes first." At least, that's how I read it...

Yes - I agree - but from now on - every 20k for me...... Also the service manager advised me that regular driving (to and from work) without actually "working" the truck - constitutes a "severe" duty scenario where all fluids and filters need to be changed on a more regular basis.

If you fall under "Special operating conditions" the manual states Every 15,000 miles
(24,000 km), 6 months, 600 engine hours or as indicated by message center. I first changed mine at ~14,000 and will do so again at 28,000 or less. I call it cheap insurance.
