Lightbulb K&N on a carby?

All right guys I am tired of my ugly restrictive stock air cleaner. I was thinkin of just taking the whole assembly off and putting the FRPK filter right on the carb flange. So will it work anyone tried, i think there is enough clearence under the hood. so what do you guys think, it would probably sound a lot better too. Right now I got mad one morning and needless to say the aircleaner is sitting in the corner of my garage. It runs a lot better now. I know its not good to be filterless but desperate times call for drastic measures. Thanks guys

K&N on a carby?

There are adapters at local parts stores to put on the 1 bbl to fit a standard 4bbl air cleaner on, however Most of the ones i've seen may not clear the choke housing so you may have to get creative and add a spacer on the 1 bbl side. If you do this you can get a 14 inch air cleaner.
