Bak Flip or Retractable Cover with Bed Insert?
Hi Guys,
I recently bought an 07 F-150 SCrew and would like to install either a Bak Flip or Pace Edwards retractable bed cover. I know the advantages and disadvantages of both and had the PE retracractable on my previous F-150 for years without any issues. I'm thinking of the Bak flip for the 07 to save a few bucks over the PE.
While my previous truck had a spray on bed liner, the 07 has the factory plastic insert, so now I'm not sure about fitment. Has anyone had any experience fitting either of these two covers into a bed with the factory insert.
Thanks,
Fred

IIRC they should both fit with the drop in liner. Reason being is that the bed rail caps are a factory item, same on any F150 from the 04-08 run, aside from the Mark LT which had those chrome nerf bars on the rails.
I have a soft cover that was not troubled by my liner, just had to push the liner aside to secure the clamps.
I just checked out Pace's site, and the clamps shouldn't be a problem there either.

Thanks for the reply. I just seems like the bed liner is curved on the front endges which might interfere with the retractable box dropping down into it if I go that route. I believe you are right on as far as the claimps fitting up under the top mldg since the bed liner slips under it as well.
