Another heat gauge problem

Having the heat gauge problem where it jumps to hot and throws the truck in limp mode saw the TSB that fixes the problem just wondering if it does. Mine is an 05 with 80000 trouble free miles first time its been back to the dealer other than the fuel line problem when it was new. Thanks Mike

Change the sensor in the cylinder head, and see what happens. If you have a scanner, you could check what the PCM is seeing as engine temperature before doing this.

Sometimes, people found that after everything was said and done, the PCM input was bad so it had to be replaced.

But I'm betting on the sensor.

I had this problem about 2 years ago. My mechanic did a tsb search and found that there is a coolant crossover under the intake manifold. When it leaks it will suck air and tell the ecm that it is hot. Grab a mirror and look under the manifold to see if it is leaking. The parts cost about $200 but the labor was about 8hrs. You need to pull the manifold to change.Good luck

Broke thanks for the info I took it to the dealer and they changed the crossover and thermostat it was going to cost about 700$ so i called fords hotline and filed a claim and ford picked up all but 225$ so ford stepped up on that one it's a 2005 with 80000 miles. They said something about improved gaskets for the crossover pipe and a different thermostat anyway it's ok for now. Mike
