I decided to go with the 79 cougar 9" its 63" but i can work with that i also got the c4 out of the car aswell now i just need to get the 351 out of the 80 f150.

jusdt wandering would it be easier to use the truck style mounts fron the 351 or the car style motor mounts that were on the 302 in the cougar?

I RAN IN TO A PROBLEM TODAY. THE 351W I WAS TOLD I HAD I GOT THE TRUCK HOME TODAY AND POPED THE HOOD AND FOUND OUT IT WAS A 351M INSTEAD. I DONT HAVE A TRANS FOR IT AND ITS AIL WIDER THEN WHAT I WANT SO IM BACK TO SQUARE ONE. I DO HAVE A 302 THATS RERINGABLE BUT IM REALLY SET ON THE 351W I ALREADY GOT HEADERS, HEI DIZZY AND EDLEBROCK INTAKE FOR THE 351W. I WAS WANDERING HOW MUCH WORK IT WOULD BE TO PUT THE 302 IN AND THEN WHEN I GET A WINDSOR BUILT SWAP THAT IN. I KNOW THE EXHAUST WILL NEED MODED BUT WILL THE MOTOR MOUNTS BE IN THE SAME PLACE?

The mounts are the same, in the same place. Exhaust mods only occur if your exhaust system for the 302 is Y piped, and you want to keep it for the 351. Then you have to widen the Y approx. 1 1/4".

good luck

well its been awhile since i have been on here. unfortunatly i have yet to move the truck out of its storage place but i did trade the 351m for a 351w/c6 out of a 79 1 ton van. but since theres snow on the ground itll be spring before that comes out the van. I also got a 62 ford for free. the rims are going on my 77 bronco, the rear axle is going under this truck. and the cab is going on a friends 64 4x4. so it was a good free find. the tires on the bronco are new so im going to use them on this truck and get 31"s for the bronco. its alot of part swapping but it'll get done I HOPE!!!
i cant wait to drive this damn truck it just sits and teases me everytime i look at it

I'm working on resealing the motor and cleaning it up. in the last couple weeks ive also gotten a complete wiring kit from speedway. thought for the price it would just be easier then wiring it myself by the time i bought all the wire i would have been over the prive of the kit.
also got a new starter, alt, fuel pump. just wanted to get the stuff the may cause fitmet issues.
im using a 77 f250 radiator. had to trim down the mounting flanges bout 1/2" on both sides.
thats bout it so far

Where are you going to put the taillights? And you were able to find new lenses for a Comet? Impressive! They might look great...

so I picked up a 95 f150 4x4 a couple days ago for $600. I have yet to get the 302 in the 49 so im back to putting a 351w. but this time its going to be efi.
for those that have done this swap what can be removed and still make it run good.
and since im using the c4. do I have to get a computer that that don't run the trans too?
can the stock gas tank be used with an inline fuel pump?
I have the donor vehicle in running condition so what is all needed to make it work?
