Instrument Cluster Swap

Hello All

I am a Canadian currently living in TX. I will be moving back to Canada in the next few months and I am thinking of buying a used F-350 lariat down here (2009 or 2010) and driving it back. Does anyone know if you can switch the American/imperial instrument cluster out for a Canadian/metric one? If you can is this a pretty tricky job or can you do it yourself?.

Thanks
-Johannes

I imagine you could. Just order the the factory set for the metric setup and it shouldnt be problem. I have never done this so I could be wrong but Im thinking it would work. Ask a dealer first.

You will also need to have the PCM altered for odometer to display mileage in Kms. A dealer will have to do this using the current mileage.

Canadian Speedometer in Ingersoll Ontario does this change all the time. Google their name & call them they will tell you everything you need to know ...as far as the dealer goes most if not all do not do speedo's they send them out to shops like the one above....I would also think that any licensed shop could do the safety for you...check with the border "US" & Canada what importing procedures you have to follow....as an example I believe I am correct on this "US Customs must have your export papers something like 48hrs before you get their with the vehicle...DON'T just show up they will get pretty upset with you!!!! check their website it is all there for you to read & do correctly!!!
PS: US Speedometer in Flint Michigan can also do it...they also are on the web........Good Luck

This is done quite frequently with Canadian Trucks imported to the US. It isn't a difficult swap.
