Dust caps (front hub) 2000 F150 2WD

New rotors/pads, front wheel bearings today...all good except I can't seem to seat the new %$&#! dust caps without crushing them.

Any tricks? (Desperate).

Get them aligned first, won't go on if they are started crooked. I then use a rubber mallet to tap them on.

Thanks for tip...bought second set from Napa (first were from Autozone) this morning and they tapped in flush without issue. Live and learn.
