Looking to replace my failing factory radio in a 1986 F150. It has the original AM/FM w/o cassette. I want to remain original, so I believe the radio must come from 1985 or 1986. I am interested in AM/FM or AM/FM with cassette. I want OEM so it will be plug and play. Thanks!
I have a JENSEN Am/Fm/ Cassette player in working shape with wiring harness. Came from a 1988 f150 model (same as yours). Take $30 for it shipped. If interested please CALL OR TEXT ME at 276-779-3800 as for I dont get on much. Im located in Galax Va. I SOLD MY F150 AND GOT A 250 AND IT WONT FIT MY NEW TRUCK RIGHT.
I have an '85 XLT Bronco that I'm parting out. It has the original AM/FM/Cassette with the little Dolby button. I think this is what you're looking for. What are thinking of spending?
Are you also looking for the XLT digital clock/calendar? I hear they are getting hard to find.
Welcome to the forum and thank you for your interest!
Normally, at this point, we would conduct business via PM, but since you do not yet have 25 posts [minimum for PM], I will briefly say that I would rather that a man set his own price so I do not offend him. I have purchased two radio units and one was not a 1985-86 [I believe an honest mistake by the seller] and the other did not function properly, so I am understandably gun shy.
Since you are new to the forum and we have not yet gotten to know you, I am posting this so others can see what I am writing and you can feel better, since if one of us is not honorable, the others will effectively "police" the situation [that is a good thing!].
Not knowing where you live, if freight is reasonable, I would take the chance and pay freight [by sending you a check, first] so I can test the unit in my vehicle and if the price you have in mind is in line and agreed upon [prior to you shipping], I would then mail you a check for that amount.
I am a man of my word. Have a good day!
P.S. Yes, the XLT digital clock/calendar is a good thing. I am not looking for one, but you should have no problem selling it. Being a Bronco, it may have an under the hood emergency light. That, too, would be an easy sell as well as the consol, if equipped with bucket seats. Sometime in the recent past, someone was looking for parts from the rear mounted spare tire carrier.

Ask a local dealer where they send out customers radios to be repaired under warranty. FoMoCo has authorized radio repair shops all over the US. Local shop may have some of the above radios, as may dealers.
When radios were removed from vehicles under warranty, dealers would usually install a new radio in its place.
When the repaired radio came back, dealer would place it in the former new radio box. Then when it was needed again, it went into the customers vehicle, the repaired radio went back into the box.
R&R'ing radios is known in the biz as "floater radios." Some dealers may still have some of these floater radios layin' around (most were thrown away ), have no money in them. So could be bought for cheap.

I understand. I was searching for a forum to post these Bronco parts but I didn't realize how restrictive the rules are here. I am a member of other forums for my Powerstroke and Mustang. Here, I can't even start a new thread as a new member! I guess I will need to wait for wanted ads to appear and reply to them until the parts are gone.
This bronco does have the underhood light, buckets and console. I may just list all the stuff on ebay starting with this radio. Would that help you out? That will provide protection for us both.
Part of the reasoning behind the forum's minimum posts ["restrictive"] rules is to limit the someone who might just come on board to sell something, since our focus is to assist each other and then possible sell something rather than the other way around. No offense meant, just explaining.
I will be looking for your items when you place them on eBay and you are certainly welcome to enter into our discussions! Have a good day!
