Ring and pinion for Dana 44 TTB?

What ring and pinion should I get? I would like to go with 4.56's as my 92 F-150 has 33x12.5 general grabber at2's and the 3.55's just don't cut it but what gears do I need to get, there are about 8 different dana 44 ring and pinions on 4wheelparts.

you are going to need a different carrier for the larger gears for a 44 , i ran into that with my truck when i was running the 456 , btw which is alot of fun!

why would you need a larger carrier considering a replacement ring and pinion should be the same ring size and pinion size just different tooth ratios.

you can get "thick" gears but i am pretty sure only in 4:10s. these gears allow you to keep your smaller carrier. or you could buy a nice limited slip for 3:73 and up gears. this will cost more and unless your doin harcore wheeling, i would just track down a 3:73 and larger carrier for your D44

if thats a little confusing the carrier you have now will only fit a 3:73 as its highest number or lowerest gearing with the exception of thick gears. the carrier you need fits >3:73 and higher number/lower ratio gears.

also make sure the gear you order is a reverse cut/ high pinion gear also. the 60s D44s were not high piniona
