I was told it would be expensive and a bunch of work will need to be done. I can't just use a ford f350 bed. I would like something that looks like a regular pick up maybe even if I can find one that has toolboxes.

 

I have the 8ft bed that came off my 2008 f450 for sale.

 

If you have a cab/chassis truck a pickup box will not bolt on. Not even one from a F450 pickup. The problem is that the Cab/chassis trucks frame is only 34" wide, and they are about 4" longer in the shortest form. There is no cheap solution....

 

Can't I weld some. To fix it. I am not helpless.

 

Yes, you can fab brackets and buy the spacer that fills in the extra space behind the cab. You may be able to buy the parts needed at Manning. They were putting dually boxes on 450/550 trucks for many years.

Did you ever sell your bed? I have a ministry in Belton TX "Hogs for a Cause.org" and am looking at buying a F450 but has no bed........ am hoping finding this post was a blessing......
