Aftermarket coil packs

So I was on Troyer Performance's website and they have these hotter coil packs for these engines. They claim up to a 15 horsepower increase and better fuel economy and blah blah blah. Is anyone here running these units? And if so, do you notice any difference like they claim? Thanks

I replaced mine with Accel #140033-8 set 2 years ago when I changed my plugs to Champion #7989. I can't say that it helped the mileage. The GMS set that Troyer sells have double the voltage as stock but that doesn't necessarily give you better mileage. Your right foot has more to do with that. Do you have a programmer in your truck? It may help more than $560 on COPs. More bang for the buck.

I was wondering about the difference between the Accels and the Troyer COPs since the Accels are around $230 on Amazon verses the $539 I think for the ones from Troyer. Would need to be significantly better for the difference in my book.

Hmmmmm,...well if you guys remember how awesome and powerfull your 5.4 was when it was new,..it says the stock coils are fine,..(right),..
I know I did find some corrosion on the tips of some of my coils when I pulled them at 96,000,..but I cleaned them up a little bit,.and replaced the boots,..and it runs so smoothe it feels like it's not running,..Why would you want to change / upgrade from stock?
Not to mention,..that you can change a coil in about 5 minutes,...(or less)

Hey guys thanks for all the replies

I do have a programmer on my truck as well as a bunch of other mods. See my signature for them. But yeah it runs great on the stockers cuz i only have 63K on my truck. I guess I'm just the type of guy thats always looking to bump the power some more lol.

The GMS seams to have the hottest voltage of all of the coils. MSD now has a CPO for the 3v engine but they don't show the voltage output. They cost a around $360 for the set though. Not to start another plug debate but E3 now lists a plug for the 3v engine. It looks like a 1 piece plug also. #E3.70 is the new number. Has anyone bought any?
