6.0 clutch

I have a 04 f-250 with the 6.0 diesel and a 6 speed. I am not sure what clutch to go with I've got quotes from $500 to $1,700. Does anyone have any ideas. The truck has 165,000 miles and we only tow about 8,000 lbs.

If the clutch is still original, it will have the dual-mass flywheel, since it is no longer available. Therefore, replacement will mandate changing up to the single-mass flywheel application. The Ford part number for the clutch kit is 3C3Z-7L596-EA, which includes clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing and pilot bearing. Using this kit, requires changing the flywheel to a single mass style which is Ford part number 3C3Z-6375-BA which also requires changing all ten flywheel to crankshaft bolts which is 3C3Z-6379-CA. Lastly, when doing this repair, ALWAYS change the plastic clutch fork pivot inside the bellhousing which almost always breaks during removal which is F81Z-7B602-AA. Use those part numbers to get your quote for the best prices you can obtain. Here it is, from www.tituswillfordparts.com:

HOPE THIS HELPS.
