Cowl to valence rods?

My 56 appears to have never had the two rod which go from the cowl or firewall to the valence on either side of the radiator. My question is since I want to add them how do I locate where to place the mounts for either end. I assume these are necessary or at least would be a help when it comes to mounting the fenders and aligning the hood etc. Thanks for your help.

there should be a small piece of metal coming down from the cowl edge on either side of the wiper motor. this will have one hole in it..

thats where the upper end mounts..

the lower end mounts at the valence/fender bolts, 3 of them.
there is a bracket that goes on each side..

see pg. 89 in this catalog. https://midfifty.com/catalog_view.php also see thread about front sheet metal alignment. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...procedure.html
I can post a photo of the mounting bracket on the cowl but that's all because my 54 didn't have the rod or mounting bracket at the front end. I'm trying to get more info on it myself. See my photo album for photos.
