Backspacing/Offset Wheel & Tire Help

Gents - I've just bought a 2004 F250 V10.

I'm planning on putting a Zone 4" lift.

I plan to replace wheels and tires and go with this:

Toyo R/Ts 285 75 18 (34.8" x 11.3")

The wheel I was wanting is 17x9 w/a 0 Offset.

The other option is running 35 12.5 17s w/a 17x9 w/a -12 Offset.

Which would you recommend and will they rub?

Thank you!

Zero or negative offset should push your wheel outwards. I doubt you will have any issue with rubbing on a 4" lift. You may want some fender flares to cover the offset though, I think stock is around 40mm, so you are pushing your wheel out about two inches. Pick the combo you like best and run with it, both should work.

Stock, or as close to it as possible. They are hard to find though.

I have found 22mm offsets, it still will leave the wheel a bit outside of the fender but much closer to stock.

what is the back space on those wheels?
I've used both a 4" back space and a 4.5" on my 00 sd with 315's 4.5 is the most you can go with front leaf springs without any rubbing for a normal 12.5" wide tire

I'm wanting to run a 35" (or close) tire and am in need of some new wheels.

Was gonna go with 18 or 17x9s.

There is a Toyo R/T out there that is 285 75 18 (34.8 x 11.3) so not as wide as a traditional 35 12.5 tire.

I was gonna run the 285 75 18 on a 18 x9--just need to figure out what offset and BS I would need to keep tires under the fenders.

the 5" bs will rub at full lock, go with the 4.53.
I'm running 18x9 methods with 4.5" bs -12 offset with 315/70r18 (35.7x13) toyos

Your truck looks great!

Mine is a V10 as well (2004).

It's my hunting/camping pull ATVs rig--gonna add a topper as well.

Would you mind posting a side pic of your truck with the topper (what kind?)?

Thank you for all your help!

thanks, mine is my hunting camping rig as well. it has a 4.5" coilover conversion front with the longer 08 rear 4.5" carli leaf springs.

have you tried squeezing more power and mpg out of your v10 yet?

I did a 5 star tuner, electric fans(removed the belt driven fan) and banks headers. I'm seeing 13.8mpg at 65/70mph on a ultra gauge and not the overhead lie-o-meter

Looks fantastic!

Just picked it up last night--purchased from a guy north of San Diego.

Father-in-law drove out to Denver for me and I drove it back to Wichita KS last night.

What kind of topper?

Done nothing to it except vacuum it out and spray some Frebreeze in it last night--guy had his lab (dog) in it--alot.
