anyone try these OBX short headers?
I was curious if anyone has tried these out, looking for another option instead of replacing the manifolds on my 96 F150. I can't have some cheap mild steel as I' m in northern NY and the salt is horrible.

back when they came on ebay about 2-3 years ago there was alot of debates about that brand. I owned a 98 camaro z28 and i was told there long tube headers fitment and quality was not to bad along with the welds were fairly good. I would personally go with longtube headers and run cats. or cat. where ever you please. As long as you have a cat. on your exhaust your good you will get alot more power with LT's you wont get much out of those shortys...

i have there longtube headers. the drivers side touched the driveshaft a little, pass. side touched the starter, but some heat and a 4' pipe took care of that. you will need to run a new y pipe, (i went with true duels) but get the apr header bolts with the 5/16 heads, and some dead soft aluminium gaskets. i dont know how well the shortys bolt up to the stock y pipe. i dont see to much reason for running shortys, unless your manifolds are cracked, and you dont wanna do the rest of the exhaust. just my 2 cents

Yea, it is my daily driver/beater truck and the manifold leak is driving me insane. I didn't know they made a long tube? The JBA stuff is reasonably priced as well, if my truck was nicer I'd get all JBA stuff including the stainless catback. These NY winters are hell on trucks/cars. EVERY panel on my truck has rust.
