Durability of 6r80

Hey guys. I'm posting in this section because I do have the 3.7l in my 2014 F150 with 4x4. I was wondering since the transmissions behind each engine are slightly different (3.7l 6r80 has 1 or 2 less clutch plates) does this mean it is weaker? I'm not exactly sure what clutch plates do, and I'm not going to be doing extreme towing with the truck, but I want peace of mind i f I'm hauling my boat or covered trailer. I'm also looking at a new throttle body, cold air intake and exhaust to boost performance a tad so I want to be sure th he mechanics can hold up. Sorry for the long winded post.
