Start/stopping clunk - Dealer says normal - Help

So I have a slight clunk everytime I stop and the truck downshifts back into 1st. It will also do this when I start to move from a dead stop. I searched this site and found a long thread on greasing the slip yokes which seemed to solve the issue. I took this info to the dealer and they kep the truck for two days and came back and told me that my truck doesn't have slip yokes on the drive line. They are claiming normal for this truck.

2016 4X4 cc sb 6.2

They claim they drove 4 other trucks and they all did it. I am going in tomorrow to make them show me one truck that does this as non of my buddies f250 do this.

Anybody have this issue? Any advice how to approach the dealer?

Where do you hear/feel the clunk coming from? I have no chunks on my truck which is the same set up as yours. I did have a friend with a 2010 that had a clunk in the rear end that happened when he gave it gas from a dead stop.

The clunk is coming from under my feet. The shop foreman acknowlege the clunk during our test drive. They said that four trucks on the lot do the same thing. If that is true and they show it to me, which I suspect they will refuse to do than, I will take my truck and go home. I am also looking for advice on how to deal with Ford.

That doesn't sound right to me. My first thought is to try a different dealer.

Doesn't sound right my 2016 has no noise yet only 1600 miles on it. Like Rob said try another dealer, while your there test ride a couple similar to it and see if they also do this.

"Clunking"

I will let you know. I have noticed a "clunk" when accelerating hard from a stop or near stop in my 2016 F250 6.2 CCSB 4x4 with 2000 miles. It sounds like it is coming from the front driveline area, but in fairness I have a bunch of stuff in a metal Tuffy box under the rear seat so I have questioned whether my ears were playing tricks with me as to location. I guess I will have to unload the storage box it and see if the "clunk" persists.

stuff sliding around inside the truck even a little bit can produce all sorts of sounds that sound like they're coming from a different spot. They snnoy the hell out of me. Pull everything out like you said and see if it disappears.

No slip yoke, really?? As you drive, the truck body will flex at different rates than the drive line, so a slip yoke is necessary. Take a look underneath, if you can move the driveshaft forward or aft a little bit or see some shiny metal on the shaft where the shaft enters the trans, guess what, you found the slip yoke. Grease it with moly grease, see if it solves your issue, and find a different dealer to do business with.

Unrelated to the OP, but you can have a fixed yoke trans or Tcase. The slip will be in the two piece splined driveshaft. They will knock also if not lubed properly.

OP: I get no knocks at all under your conditions.

Oh how I hate that answer. I had a real bad growl in the power lift gate of my Edge, got that same answer from the service manager. I was annoyed. I asked him if he turned the key on four new vehicles in the lot and they all burst into flames, does that mean it's not a problem?" They did eventually fix it under warranty, but you shouldn't have to pressure them to fix stuff that just isn't right.

what we have learned about noises that are classified as OK in ford products during warranty wind up being money pits when out of warranty.

each time you bring it in, make sure you get a work order so there is a record.

Subscribing, I have the very same truck, '16, ccsb 6.2 4x4. I get the clunk on downshifts into 1st on occasion. I think it's in the transfer case.
I had planned on making an appointment for service sometime with it, and another very small problem. The pin in the console hinge keeps working out, and is going to put a hole In my seat.

Ron94150 Do you ever get the clunk upon acceleration? Mine drives me nuts in stop and go traffic. Clunk down into 1st, clunk as I take off. FYI - It went in for a squeak as well, it turned out to be the rear output seal on the tranny. That was an easy fix as they had an older TSB on that issue. 3,500 miles and two transmission issues already. I love the truck but am starting to get concerned!!!!!!!!

I've mainly noticed it when on a grade, and you almost come to a stop, then give it some throttle, it's a rough clunky down shift into 1st. Hard acceleration doesn't do it, and it's just an occasional thing.
