Question electrical queerness

experienced this short time ago: driving on motorway @65mph, set turn signal to the right because shifting the lane and the overdrive kicked out and in with the same frequency as the turn signal got on and off. anyone an idea what can cause this? wiring seems to be fine in the truck, no other problems in the electrical system so far.

Check your trailer connector and the brake light bulbs. I'd pull all the connections apart and blow them out then reattach. Also look for any wire back there that could have rubbed through and is grounding.
I haven't heard of this one before but it's common for the brake lights to shut off the cruise control when one burns out.
Hey I have been wondering how you drive that thing out there? Don't all the cars try to run you off the road? And look out because our Danish girl is getting her license now.

Hi Michael, Good to see you!
I am trying to picture what is happening. Is your steering wheel turned a little?
My wheel is turned a little (when I am going straight) and when I put my turn signal on I need to hold it there until I actually start turning....then it will hold. Then it will cancel like it should (when I am turning the wheel straight again).

thank you. i will try this, but it is not the cruise control, the overdrive kicks out and the engine rev's up a bit.

hi ian, good to see you too. have the same issue with my s-wheel. but thats not the problem itself i think. if i set the turn signal the overdrive kicks out and in and the engine revs up and down a little. don't know how i should explain it better, sorry....

thank you all for the input

Make sure you brake light bulbs are all good. Sounds like one of them is burned out

X2 with TJ.
Something is up in the brake light system.
Its not an od issue. Its the tc unlocking and locking.

A bad Multi Function Switch will do that.

I am thinking more on the lines of a bad ground letting enough current backfeed the brake circuit.

Could also be in the right turn signal wires on the trailer plug in.

Ford currently has a recall on the cruise control for these trucks. I know you said OD not cruise but might be the multi function switch in colum, since cruise, turn, & OD switch wires all run through it.
