Just wanted to double check on the wheels that are on these donor vehicles. They have an extra split ring around the outside of the rim. Will these work for tubeless tires as well? I'll post a picture when I get home tonight. I think I remember someone mentioning something about a split ring wheel, but I don't remember exactly what was said about them. They are 16".

Not unless you use tubes inside your tubeless tires. Stu

So, I am going to have to look for the one piece type? The F2 in the yard had the one piece I think. Can you tell by this photo?

Can't say from the pic, but stock F-2 wheels were one piece. Odds are good they are stock. Keep in mind that these old rims are riveted which sometimes lets air leak. So you might need to put sealer or something on the rivet areas to seal them. Stu

Good to know, thanks. What is a good sealer to use?

I've read of guys using silicone sealer. Or maybe even some JB Weld, that'll fix anything. Stu

Yes, the 1001 uses of JB Weld. Great stuff! Thanks again.

I worked the summer near Gunnison, wish I had known about that yard. Sure looks interesting.

Yes, it is a very interesting yard. The owner is a pack rat and has many worthy whole vehicles, but it is a pain to get him to sell a whole vehicle. I tried,... unsuccessfully. But, if all you want is parts, you deal with the son. Much easier to deal with.
They could make a mint if it was managed a little better.

Hell yes, post some pics.

I just got a Dana 60 from a '68 F-250, going off word it was a bolt-in. The width is close enough not to matter, the pinion is only a little off, but the shock and spring mounts sure as hell need moved. They're definitely not right on the money it seems.

Jason, use the u bolt brackets that were on the original rear end and cut off the brackets on the 60. And yes the 60 pinion is 2 inches longer then the timken rear end. You will more than likely have to shorten your drive shaft.

The red one is apparently a 67, if the tag reads 4.56:1. In 68, the standard ratio was 4.11:1. I had an F250 4X4 with the 4.56:1 ratio and 33" tires. The ol' 352 was singing at 60-65 mph.
