Transmission has 176k miles on it. fluid changed every 20k miles. was last changed at around 172k miles. Transmission had been shifting well and performing well without complaints, until a few days ago. Transmission will no longer shift past second gear, when it tries to shift into 3rd gear it holds 2nd for a while then it acts like its in neutral. shifts fine from 1st to 2nd. manual 1st gear and manual 2nd still work. fuild is clean still and doesnt smell burnt. checked resistance of the mlps and shift solenoids yesterday at the pcm connector, got the correct resistance values according to shop manual. does throw a code for a mlps out of range error.

Does this mean, one of the clutches have burnt up? could the accumulator be bad? or could it still be an electrical issue? ideas and suggestions on how to diagnose the problem without having to pull the trans would be appreciated.

car isnt worth more then putting about $100 in parts into so if the transmission needs a rebuild its time for another vehicle.
