Broke on of my transmission cooler lines.

Truck: 87 F250 6.9L diesel C6 transmission 4WD.

When I was removing the transmission cooler line that runs to the rear of the transmission the end was locked and it twisted the line.

Is there anybody who sells this line prebent, or are there any other good ways to fix it?

The auto parts places can probably fix you up with a new piece of line and the couplers to splice onto the undamaged part of your line.

If you want to wait and go to the expense, try www.inline tube or Classic Tube - PreBent and Custom Stainless and OE Brake Lines and more... for prebent lines.

Quick fix: some rubber trans line and 4 clamps, 2 on each end

$$$ fix and the right way is to get a new line.

If im not mistaken, doesn't the metal line go from the transmission into a rubber hose anyway? I tried the rubber line splice with one hose clamp on eah side, and I flared each end of the metal line slightly before putting it in, but it leaks slowly.

Try the two clamp method to be sure, sometimes one clamp doesnt do it.

So if I were going to replace the line, I am assuming I could just get some brake line and bend/flair it? If so, does anybody know off hand the size line and the size of the fitting? And also approx how long I would need?

I would have to take the truck clear down to the shop, take the line off to measure it, put the line back on, drive 15 more minutes to the parts place, drive 15 minutes back to the shop, take the line back off once again and swap it. That's the only reason I am asking sizes, it would be very handy if somebody actually knew what I needed so I could pick it up before going down and taking the old one off.

Thanks.

I would think its 3/8ths line, I would buy a 5'piece and cut it down and bend to fit
