I wouldn't even attempt to disprove. Your facts are dead on.

Thank you for correcting me, and for your help to the forum members. I'm trying, but have a LOT to learn about these trucks.

I had a 92 Explorer that overheated. I had a tap water mix in it, and that coupled with a faulty radiator cap resulted in the entire side of my radiator blowing off and damaging the grill, the passenger fender, the hood insulation, and a couple of lines in the engine compartment. Had I used distilled water in the mix, the end result might (and I use that loosely) might, have been different. Most likely just less explosive, but still ruptured. I was just really glad I didn't have my head in there at the time it blew. Since then, I replace my radiator caps once a year, and only use distilled water for all of the beneficial reasons. I typically, and unfortunately, learn by doing it the wrong way first. Not the cheapest, nor safest method for sure, but so far it has led to some very interesting adventures and, thankfully, only a few minor injuries.
