New U-bolts are needed regardless of what blocks you use, and make sure you get the fattest bolts possible, for a halfton truck those would be 9/16" maybe?
This kit came with Ubolts. Not sure if they'll work or not but I don't think that will be a big deal.

You guys stay tuned. I think I'll tackle this need weekend. I may need some assistance.

It LOOKS like an easy install but I've been fooled before!

It's not too bad, do them one side at a time. What about shocks, have you decided on what you'll be using, if yours end up too short? My 2wd F350 shocks were fully extended with truck on the ground and at ride height, for a day or two I drove without rear shocks till I could find time to go to the parts store and get some 4x4 (longer than 2wd) F350 shocks, those worked real nice. You already have a 4x4 truck so you can't simply switch from 2wd to 4x4 shocks for a halfton, but may be 4x4 F250 shocks will fit nice?

Actually, Bill's beauty is a 2WD. Hard to believe, right?

Bill, good luck with the install. Do me a favor, and measure the width of your leaf springs when you're working on it. I think they're going to be 2 1/2", but if for some reason they're 3", I may be able to help you out.

LCAM, I'm not sure what I'll do if my shocks come up short. I really didn't think about that. I hope I don't have to buy new shocks too.

I do have a question guys; My truck has a 3'' body lift. With this 2'' block, will my brake lines be affected at all? Please tell me they won't be, ha.

Bob I'll let you know man!

And yes, my truck is just a two wheel drive. =(

Micah you know me man! You know I will. I'll unload the bed and take pictures.

This is assuming I can get this done. If I have to start messing with brake lines I'm not sure what I'll do.

IIRC the 2wd brake hose is actually longer than the 4x4-specific one, not sure exactly why tho. So you'll probably be alright with the hose you go on there now, but just to be safe let the axle hang down by the leaf springs (shocks removed, or at least disconnected from it) and see what the hose routing looks like then. The only thing that will be affecting it are the blocks, since body lift does not change the distance between the axle and the frame and the brake hose goes from the axle to the frame, and not to the bed. About the shocks, since you have a 2wd truck then the longer 4x4 shocks may do the trick for you too, just like they did for me - you'll probably still be using the F150-specific shocks tho, cause F250 4x4 ones will likely be too long.

If you get a chance, you should stick a jack under the rear bumper or hitch and lift it up 2" to see if there will be any issues. It'll help you see what it'll look like too. Did the body lift affect the brake hose? I thought the brake line was attached to the frame, not the body.

If it was mine I'd just throw a pair of air shocks in the back. That's the simplest way to get the lift while hauling. If you had more cash to work with I'd recommend the Firestone air bag helper spring set up. I've got one of these set ups on my 54/84 project.

Lift blocks are cheap but they can be a total pain to put in. I've got a messed up back from trying to bust loose rusty old U-bolts on a 85 Bronco I use to own. Since then I don't even bother with trying to loosen U-bolts I just cut them with a sawzall.

It's more a matter of timing than anything else, don't take it personally.

Okay thanks guys, I really appreciate yall. I think I'll get the ball rolling Monday probably. Problem is I'm not home or I would have gotten started already.

I'll be a lot happier when my truck isn't squatting all winter long!

Thanks again guys. Like I said I'll probably get started Monday. I'll keep you updated so stay subscribed in case I need help!

*2fords* it isn't anything personal. Like LCAM it's all about timing here on FTE.

Hi guys!

Got started today. Dad called home at the last second and asked me where I had the jacks. He calmly told me I was going to die if I unbolted the U-Bolts. Haha!

So, he told me to just wait until he got home before advancing further.

In theory I should be able to finish this tomorrow.

I was doing really good up until that point!

BTW, looks like the shocks and brake lines are going to be okay. I think I would have had an issue with the shocks had I gotten the 3'' block instead of the 2''.
