1988 ford 7.3 idi to 1996 7.3 powerstroke trans issue

I want to use the 1988 c6 trans instead of the 1996 e4od. But the torque converters are different an flex plate. Can i put the torque converter from e4od on the c6 an still work right.

You won't have the electronics to run the tranny. Not sure how you're gonna make it work..

Okay could i use the transfer case from the c6 an bolt it to the e4od

I doubt it will bolt on, but I've never tried or looked into it. See if anybody else knows.

yea you can bolt it on as long as the xfercases are the same irrc
