broken vent window piviot

Does anybody know how to repair the bottom piviot on the vent window? Is this a common problem with these trucks?

Did it break off at the bolt/nut spring area? Send some pics...
You may have to replace the vent window frame...easy to find.

Replaced the pivot on the 65 several yrs. ago which required making 1 workable vent window out of 2. It requried carefully ginding the ole rivets out and replacing with new rivets. Found seating the rivets to secure the pivot to the frame can be a task. Seem to recall the Rt. and Lf. pivots are not interchangeable. Don't believe the frames are interchangeable after 65, not sure about the pivots.

Have not noticed the vent window accessories in any of the Ford parts supplier's catalog. In reassembling the 65, purchase many of the fasteners from restoration specialty, noticed in their catalog they list vent window pivots and arms but noted to contact them to determine if item meets your application.

I am in the middle of doing this now. I tried to find replacement frames with no luck. I had a welder TIG weld the old post back onto the frame. It cost 30 bucks and looks great. I haven't quite gotten to reinstalling them yet, but they should go in just fine.

Can't recall which v window that was repaired but starting to have difficultly closing driverside so when weather permits intend removing and if it's the pivot arm again, if so, certainly look into having it mig welded, thanx for the info.

Do you have any vent window frames to fit 64 F100?

You cannot use a 1970's vent frame (or pivots) in a 1961/66. They will not fit...as the doors are totally different!

C1TZ8121608B .. Right Vent Frame / Obsolete

HEMINGWAY MOTOR CO. in Andrews SC has ONE = 843-264-5243.

MANDERBACH FORD in Temple PA has ONE = 610-929-3683.

High Buck! BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has 7 = 800-676-0675.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 14 = 800-543-4959.
---------------------------------------------------------
C1TZ8121609B .. Left Vent Frame / Obsolete

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

These two frames fit: 1961/66 F100/1100 // 1963/69 N/NT500/1000 // 1967/69 F800/1000.

All these trucks use the same parts, cuz the doors are essentially the same (The N Series use different R/L door shells, otherwise...everything is the same).

On the R&L lower pivots is one pivot stop (COAB6422292A); Two flat washers per side (356425S); a nut (353618S); and a coil spring (B5A7022926A).

The coil spring weakens, allowing the vent frame to flap around. These parts fit all sorts of myriad applications besides these trucks and can be found NOS.

I found over 600 (!) of the springs...GREEN SALES CO. has 385.
