This was the best I could do with it being 2 degrees outside and black nasty water dripping off my truck everywhere. I just got back from a trip to town.
There is more room around it than you can see in the picture. Like I said a good half inch to the crossmember. It's not gonna hurt it. The bottom hangs about an inch lower than the oil pan which also won't be a problem. Anything that wants to hit it has to go through the differential first.

I would be very curious of the flow rate of this filter. Has anybody found that info yet?

What's the best current source and price for this filter?

I am up against my OCI and want to try it. It looks like an okay ratio (99% at 20micron are the numbers I saw) and I like the idea of an extra quart in the mix, too.

I'd be willing to try it as long as there is enough room for it.

The price doesn't seem bad, especially since I run synthetic.

Would this eliminate the need for a by pass filter?

Where did you find that info at? It's got lots of errors in it. It says this ones nominal micron rating is 35. It's 10 according to donaldson. The cross to wix filter is double that. The only similarities between the two is the size.

This was the best filter I could find anywhere for it though. It's supposed to catch everything 10 mic and bigger and filter down to 2 mic but not each pass. 10 mic was 99. something efficiency I think. Donaldson doesn't like publishing the specs on it anywhere and it's all very hard to find. It seems like every website out there has different info on it too. It's made for a Cat so having some experience manufacturing parts for them I know it would not be used on them without having the very best filtering ability.

I don't remember now, I did a search for oil filter cross reference.

I was trying to find a place to buy that Donaldson filter but didn't have any luck.

I had a hard time finding one local. Everyone kept crossing it to fleetright and baldwin and those are much cheaper. BUT not the same by any means. They just fit the same and are the same size. I got lucky with the cat and cummins shop in town.

Straight from the Donaldson site:

15 micron @ 99% efficiency

https://dynamic.donaldson.com/webc/W...tml?item=80882

Since I don't know of a local source yet, I picked up a set of six off of fleaBay shipped for ~$27/ea.

If the Cat shop is $30, I figure that's an okay deal. Especially since I was paying ~$22 for the Wix Gold.

Looking forward to installing this bad mammah-jammah.
