Heavy duty truck comparison
#5
I would like to see the side by side specs of these three trucks. Because if you go to Fords website and look at the video comparison, the Ford spanks the dodge and chevy in everything and they are all very similar in the specs. There is a reason Ford calls their big trucks Superduty and the other 2 call them heavy duty. Also who can argue with the fact that the F series is #1 for 34 years straight.

Comfortable, quiet and well-equipped, the Ford F-350 Super Duty is the choice when the road is straight and level, especially if you're towing something.

I think they disqualify their opinions with their own words. Normally you don't nit pick the winner and praise the first loser. "Well, once you get over all the flaws of the GMC, it's a really nice truck. Oh that Ford over there? We'll I'd choose it if I was towing... or like comfort. Or quiet....... But the GMC has bigger *****!" Gimme a break.

IMHO GM has a better drivetrain, Ford has a better truck. The OP was obviously trying to incite nonsense.
I have no idea how anyone could make any claims about the durability of a first-year engine, so it seems hard for me to have any opinion about whether the PSD will last longer than the Duramax.

I've driven that exact stretch of road a hundred times in my life, loaded and unloaded. My "poor little 6.0L" with 3.73s moved a 7k trailer up that hill just fine, heck even my Ranger pulled a 5k trailer up it, I just wasn't running like it was a drag race. I don't see the value in a test where they slam the gas and see how fast they can get up the hill, that's why every July there a dozen trucks and SUVs burned up on the side of I-70, idiots thinking the 70mph speed limit is a goal when pulling their 5th wheels.

I think what all these tests show is that the folks up in detroit have made leaps and bounds in these trucks in the last 10 yrs and we are all better for it no matter the make, ford, gm, or dodge. All are capable of doing all but the most demanding (e.g. abusive) tasks we ask of them.
I had considered myself a chevy man for the longest time, but i based my decision at the time on ford bc i like the larger cab that the f250 offered and when i bought in 05 the 7.3 was (and still is) legendary. I have not regretted my decision, I LOVE THIS TRUCK. But I can acknowledge that GM has developed one hell of a package with the max. I for one have not forgiven them for needing a bailout, but to each their own.
