Low Boost / High EGT issue w/ tune

I recently installed DP tuner in my 01. I run the +60 economy tune, I didn't get any race tunes. I can't seem to figure out why my truck won't make the 28psi this tune is designed to run. It only makes 20, so it smokes a ton and gets really hot, really quick. I've talked with Jody about it, and he says hes never heard of this problem with anyone else. So far, I've done/checked:

Checked turbo for excessive play, it felt VERY good
New air cleaner
Pressurized the boost lines with 32PSI to check for boost leaks, none found
checked exhaust manifolds and all exhaust connections for loose bolts / leaks and I couldn't find any
Replaced stock wastegate actuator with banks big head, no help

I'm out of ideas. Truck will not boost more than 21psi on the 28psi tune, and the EGTs rise super fast. I can't be in it for more than 3-4 seconds before I hit 1000-1100* and have to get out of it. It boost the stock 18psi with no problem on the stock tune without getting hotter than 900, from 0-70mph+.

I'm out of ideas. Anyone else have this issue when they added a tune to their truck? Any ideas would be great, I would love to have this thing running right with the tune! Thanks!

Did you check for a boost leak when it was hot or cold? I ask because I had the same problem and it would appear when the truck was hot

I checked it when it was cold. I guess its worth a shot to check it again while its hot! Thanks for the tip.

The only tune the truck runs right in is the stock tune. I have the +60 tow and +60 economy, stock and no-start. I've also got the decel tune but it doesn't really seem to do anything. Not sure whats up with that, another issue to figure out I guess.

what's your exhaust? stock There's a restriction somewhere. EBV possibly came unhooked? On the passenger side bottom of the turbo? My tunes have never done this, have had them two years now.

4" straight piped turbo-back.

I'l see if I can spot the EBV and see if its hooked up. This might explain why the decel tune I got with the tuner doesn't seem to do anything...

I would defiantly look into that. The you should feel something with the decel tune for sure.

Do you have an OCR to fool the map sensor. Your truck will defuel right around 21-23psi. The OCR (over boost code regulator will not let the PCM see over 21-22 psi so it won't defuel. Not sure on your egt issue. But they may be related.

I'm not getting any check engine lights at all. Its not even getting up to 23psi to trigger the fuel cut anyway.

It is not an overboost issue, if it was then your EGT's would not be as high becasue you would be pushing more "air" through the system.

Is there an sensor or switch somewhere that controls the EBV? I can't see any sort of electrical connections back there, and am wondering how its controlled?

Jim the funny thing about this is there are 2 people both having similar problems both mentioned on here today. What an odd coincidence.

The EBPV id controlled by the EBPS which is on the passenger side exhaust manifold there is a tube that goes to the sensor. On the exhaust side of your turbo there is an arm that attaches to the turbo pedestal it opens ans closes with oil pressure. Make sure that the rod is attached.
