66 f-250 automatic to 4spd swap

Hi, I'm new to this site, and this is my first post but any tips would be appreciated. In my '66 f-250 I'm swapping out the automatic trans (i believe a c4) with an np435 4spd. i just bought the 4spd and haven't started on the swap yet. i'd like to put in a hydraulic clutch; any tips or suggestions?

First off, welcome aboard.

Secondly, what motor do you have in the truck... You should find a pedal set from a 4-sp truck and install that. Why do you want to remove the auto?

thanks, its a 352, and ill have to see when i can get out to the salvage yard to find a pedal set, or see whats on ebay. i just generally prefer driving with a manual trans; classic 4 on the floor.

I have the 352 engine and NP435 4 speed trans in my truck with 3.50 gears. Hopefully you already know this, but the NP 435 has a granny (and unsynchronized) first gear. So for most situations you would probably start in second gear - which makes it more like a classic three on the floor! There's a fair amount of parts to track down to convert your truck from auto to manual. Good luck!

I just redid a 66 that had a COM. Installed a Borg/Warner T-18.
It's not that hard to do.
Find a parts truck that came with a 4-speed.
I bought a parts truck for $500.00 and sold it for $275.00
after pulling the engine, transmission, hood, seat, fenders, clutch & brake pedals, manual steering column, heater motor, wiper motor, switches, windshield, front bumper, core support and many more small parts.
