Question Mystery Part???

Hey,
Just recently bought an 05' f-250 crew cab V10. I was looking around under the front left wheel well today and found a part just resting on the upper left frame that I can't seem to identify. It resembles an engine valve (metal) with a "cupped" end. The end of the shaft is a rounded off "ball". The cup end is 1.5" wide. Standing up on end the part is 4.5". I have no clue? I have photos of it on my profile under album. I'm new to FTE and thought this would be the best place to start. THANKS TO EVERYONE!
