E-350 Dually Van/53 COE OR Van Project
#16
I know you were talking about swapping the 92 E250 body onto that chassis. But I'd be way too tempted to mount the COE body on the dually chassis. That would be such a cool truck.
The old sleepers just look like they belong on the old Ford COE's. That will be sweet. Any idea on the box yet? Are you going with a stretched pick up style box or a flatbed?
I see your buddy was enjoying the COE too!

Yea my pup LOVES that truck and has decided it is HIS TRUCK
I'm opening a bar/restaurant called the "Hot Rod Grill" and I think I'm gonna build a BIG BADASS Grill/Smoker on the back of it to cook BBQ off of and do events and rent out as a catering rig...Dog is extra!

Hopefully your dog approves all modifications being done!!

ME TOO !!!
Hey Rustahaulic,
Nice user name Man... And BTW, don't feel to bad about it, my mom made me wear a bow tie when I was in grade school but I got over it...
Seriously, I saw your thread when I was doing a Google search for another COE build thread and I was instantly interested because I have a 54 C-800 COE cab I'm working on and I want to do something similar to what you are doing. I posted a thread here some time ago when I got the cab. See: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...a-coe-cab.html
I also have a detailed build thread going at Another COE project...
I have considered a bus chassis but nothing has turned up so far that I can afford. I really would prefer a dually 4WD F-350 rolling chassis with the 7.3 PS and automatic transmission. That is about as new as I want to go. I have an F-350 with the 6.0L PS but it's too nice to tear up and I'm not too thrilled with the problems that go with the newer engines. My alternate backup is my old E-350 one tone van with the old 7.3 IDI. But with 256K on the clock iot would need to be rebuiltbefore I use it in my COE project.
PM or better still, e-mail me and we can compare notes. I am really interested in what you will do to get the COE mounted on the late model chassis.
Later Man...
Dave
