How do I remove the hubcaps from my 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer without damaging the wheel or the hubcap. I have already tried a rag covered screwdriver and this started to nick the wheel. Any suggestions?

Use the widest flathead you can find to maximize your strength. Once you get the cap off a little, you can work around the other sides to pop it off.

A couple of nicks here and there is okay since the rim is going to get road rash / debris anyways.

Putting the cap back on is easier...BANG!

 

I figured it out. I uses a 1" thick board against the wheel to leverage my large screwdriver on while I pry one side of the hubcap out until it stops. I can then grab the hubcap with my hand and pull it off. It definitely goes back on easier. I will now keep the 1 inch thick board with my jack.
