My truck cranks over for a long time before starting. It doesnt seem to matter what the temp is. Summer or winter it cranks for a quite a while before it starts. It does always start and seems to run fine after starting. It does start when its really cold to. Just needs to crank to long from other trucks I have seen. Any ideas?????
Short out the Glow plug relay and see if that makes the difference. It's on the left side of the fuel bowl under the engine cover. They are prone to failure. If that's the case, GPR109 from NAPA or the better Stancor relay (someone help me out with the number). If that doesn't help, then maybe your glow plugs need replacing or the under vavle cover harness could be loose or burnt. Try the GPR ( glow plug relay) first. That's likely the problem.
