2003 Fog Lamp install using a 2005-2007 Kit

I have a 2003 XL that is my 3rd F250 Super Duty, (the others were wrecked and traded off) that is V10 stick shift with manual hubs. I wanted to add the OEM factory fog lights to it last June when kits were available but as things happen, it got put off. In December I had the funds and a bit of time to start the project but unfortunately the kit went obsolete and was no longer available anywhere. I though about making my own wiring harness, both inside and outside to mate up with the factory fog lights but it seemed just too much hassle. Plus I wanted to use an OEM head light switch with fog lights as the 2001 kit had a cheesy separate switch in my opinion. So I started to look at the 2005-2007 kit. It seemed to be very close to what I needed in the wiring harness area, but the lamps and switch would not work. I was able to find one rather cheap and spent several hours going over it and determined that the harness would actually be better than the 2001 kit because in 2005 they put the connectors on the end of the inside harness to mate up with one of the head light connectors to allow the use of the OEM switch. So I spent a couple days installing it and attached is my take on the installation. I sold off the 2005 lamps and head light switch and ordered the correct lamps and headlight switch plus 4 lamp bracket bolts (2 came with the 2005 kit). The kit parts that I used actually works really well in fit and looks. I actually think it’s a better fit and finish than the 2001 kit and it should work in all the trucks from 2001 to 2004.

I was very pleased with the end result of getting the OEM fog lights with the OEM head lamp with fog lamp switch.

I like them.. They fill the area right around the bumper out to the point of the bottom of the low beams... It really helps mine.. Not so bright that they wash out in the fog...
