Need help with my compression test reading
Hello,
I have a '98 F250LD 4x4 with a 5.4L. The CEL was on, so I ran the OBD and got 3 codes. One was a EGR code, number 4 misfire, and a tempature warning. I diisconected the battery and lost the code numbers.
My problem is with the number 4 misfire. I pulled the plugs, and plugs 2,3,and 4 ( on the passager side) were wet, wetter, and soaked. what i believe was coolant.
The plugs were very white with a lot of white chalky build up on them.
I did a compression test on the engine cold, because i had all the COP's and plugs out already, with a open trottle. The number 4 cyl. pressure went up and droped and up and droped and up and held stedy (cranked engine for 4-5 seconds). This only happened once. I could reproduce it with a couple more tries.
My readings were
Cyl. Cyl.
4-190 8-90
3-185 7-160
2-175 6-160
1-180 5-125 lbs.
Are these number normal? the pressure held stedy at these numbers. could I still have a head leak?
thanks.
