Viper SmartStart/Drone DR-1000

Does anyone have any use of these on Expys? Likes/dislikes? I did a search and found only one topic but no real help since it applied to heavy-duty trucks. I've read a bit on the Viper and see a lot of bad reviews about it not working. Drone seems to be the same thing just 2X the price.
